OFFICIAL RULES:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE CHANCES OF WINNING. Void where prohibited.
The Times-News and other select sponsors (together, the “Sponsors”) are conducting the 2013 Times-News “Our Love Story” wedding contest (the “Contest”). The Sponsors will conduct the Contest as described in these Official Rules, and by participating in the Contest each participant agrees to and shall be deemed to have accepted the following rules, terms and conditions:
DATES: Contest opens for entries on January 2, 2013. Contest closes for entries on January 8, 2013 at 11:59 pm EDT. No entries shall be accepted outside of Contest dates.
ELIGIBILITY: No purchase necessary. Open to legal residents of the Alamance County who are 21 years of age or older. Proof of age and residency may be required. Wedding date must be between April 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013. Employees of the Times-News and the other specified Contest Sponsors and their family members are not eligible for the Contest. If selected as a semi-finalist, entrants must be available on dates specified below for interview/video and winner announcement. Limit one entry per couple.
HOW TO ENTER: Visit www.TheTimesNews.com/ourlove (the “Contest Website”), click on “Entry Form”, fill in all pertinent information on the Entry Form, and submit a response to each of the questions. All responses must be complete, accurate and true. By entering the Contest, you acknowledge and agree that all information, photographs, images and other materials you provide in connection with the Contest (with the exception of addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers) may be published on the Contest Website and/or in other media (including the Times-News newspaper and related publications), and/or used by the Sponsors for internal purposes, in each case in any given format. Email addresses may be provided to any or all Sponsors so they may contact contestants, but will not be made public.
SELECTION OF SEMI-FINALISTS: After reviewing all eligible entries received via the Contest Website, and verifying compliance with these Official Rules, four (4) Semi-Finalist couples will be selected by a selection committee comprised of the “Our Love Story” wedding contest Committee. Semi-Finalists will be required to attend a profile interview and photo/video session at the Times-News scheduled between January 14th and 18th, 2013. VOTING FOR WINNING COUPLE: One couple will be the Contest winner (the “Winning Couple”), and the Winning Couple will be selected from among the four (4) Semi Finalist couples by public voting conducted on the Contest Website (www.TheTimesNews.com/ourlove). Voting opens on January 27, 2013 at 12:01 am EDT and closes on February 17, 2013 at 11:59 pm EST. Voting is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older. Individuals may vote only one time and for only one contestant. Subsequent votes for the same contestant and/or from the same email address will automatically be disqualified. In case of a tie, the selection committee will cast votes to break the tie and select the Winning Couple. The Winning Couple, as chosen by public voting via the Contest Website, will be announced on Sunday, February 24, 2013 as described below.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: All four Semi-Finalists will be required to attend the Times-News Bridal Expo at the Mebane Arts and Community Center Sunday, February 24. The four couples will each receive 10 free tickets to the show. The winning couple will be announced at the show. An article published in the Sunday edition of the Times-News, on Sunday, March 3, 2013, will publicly announce the Winning Couple. If any of the Semi-Finalist is not available to attend the Bridal Expo, they shall be disqualified and forfeit all rights to any Contest prizes, and the second-place Semi Finalist couple, based upon public voting via the Contest Website (www.TheTimesNews.com/ourlove), may in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsors be deemed the Winning Couple.
PRIZES: Prize(s) awarded to the eligible Winning Couple may include vouchers for the following services: Jason's The Art of Jewelry: 18-inch Large, Freshwater Cultured Pearl Necklace, Vailtree Event Center: $500 Gift Certificate towards a wedding reception or other event, Elegant Bridal: $200 gift certificate, America's Mattress: $200 gift certificate, Design Studio 143: $300 gift certificate for 3-hour in-home interior design consultation, Tasty Bakery: $200 gift certificate toward a wedding cake, Times-News - Wedding Announcement ($220 value)
Times-News reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
Times-News reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of Times-News, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, Inc., and/or Times-News. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and Times-News are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
Times-News reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
